Single Largest Ground Floor Letting Opens At Stockport Retail Park
Peel Retail Parks saw its largest single floor letting space since 2000 open today, Friday 26th July, in the form of a new branch of The Range at Stockport Retail Park.
Located on the site of the former Toys R Us Store, the store spans circa 54,000 sq ft and has created 80 new full and part time jobs. The extended store has been increased from its original floorplate of 44,000 sq ft to a further 10,000 sq ft to the rear of the unit to include an Iceland foods, outdoor garden centre and family café.
The Range, which currently stocks more than 65,000 products across 16 different departments, from Homewares and Furniture to DIY and Art & Crafts, joins an impressive lineup of existing high street names including Dunelm Mill, TK Maxx, Wilkos and Matalan.
Mark Whittaker, Property Director at Peel L&P which owns and manages Stockport Retail Park, said: “Peel Retail Parks are performing well across the portfolio, with Stockport now one the UK’s largest retail parks and once again operating at full capacity, it is a sign of our continued investment and commitment to improve the retail offering for our customers. Recent upgrades, including new smart payment parking, have made Stockport Retail Park more accessible than ever.”
Parking tariffs at Stockport Retail Park continue to be one of the cheapest in the town centre, plus customers can benefit from free parking every evening after 5pm and all-day Sunday.
Chris Dawson, the founder of The Range, said: “We are excited to be able to bring Stockport a new national retailer to replace the former Toys R Us. This site has been on our radar for some time and we believe the local community will benefit greatly from having The Range in their area. We encourage them to join us for our opening weekend to see the fantastic selection of products on offer and the exciting in-store activities.”
Mark concludes: “To support the opening weekend, there will be free parking from 7am on Friday 26th July until 11pm on Sunday 28th July.”
