The new machines feature contactless payment and Apple Pay

Multi-payment car parking machines have been installed at Stockport Retail Park following a £40,000 investment at the now fully-let shopping park.

Featuring contactless payment functions including Apple Pay and Pay by Phone solutions, the upgraded machines require payment on exit to further improve the shopping experience for customers.

Mark Whittaker, Property Director at Peel L&P which owns and manages Stockport Retail Park, said: “This is a welcome and innovative addition as we continue to invest in and improve one of the UK’s largest retail parks. With the imminent arrival of The Range and the park now operating at full capacity, the new payment options compliment this accessible park.”

Tariffs at Stockport Retail Park continue to be one of the cheapest in the town centre, plus customers can benefit from free parking every evening after 5pm and all-day Sunday.

Alex Hiles, Corporate Services Director at Care Parking said: “The main driver for these machines is to give the customers as much flexibility as possible in paying for parking and to make it easier to visit Stockport Retail Park. There will be two car park attendants based on site from 8.30am until 6.30pm, 7 days a week, to help any customers who may need assistance operating the machines.”

Care Parking will be the management partner for parking moving forwards. All customer enquiries relating to parking should be sent to: info@careparking.co.uk. Coins and Chip & Pin will still be accepted at the machines.

Stockport Retail Park includes a varied choice of retailers including Dunelm Mill, TK Maxx, Wilkos and Matalan.
